Classic Faults News Archive

And now, the major update for today:  The new song, "Mumble Jam", has been posted here and on out MySpace account! Go and give it a nice score!  A download link for it is available, or you can add it to your own MySpace profile if you are so inclined! As far as the Mp3 player at the bottom of the page, well, I made a few changes.  Some tracks have been removed and replaced, but all are still available for download from the "Songs" page.

03/15/2006

Sorry for lack of updates lately, but here we go:

The show at Rudies' was a blast!  We had the biggest turnout of the night, & despite a late start, things went off mostly without a hitch!  If you missed it, shame on you & you'd better come to the next one!

Still no proper recording of "Mumble Jam" to post here, but hopefully I will be able to get that up over this weekend.  I have a short vacation coming up here, so I should have time to get a lot of things done!  One of which will, of course, be the posting of song & updating of content.

Classic Faults has been working in the practice room on a few new tunes; two of which are sounding pretty solid at the moment.  As soon as we get more worked out for them, we should be able to do recordings & put them up so everyone can listen to them.

I think that's gonna be it for updates today!  Thanks for visiting & come back often.

02/24/2006

Just a quick note:  The recording for our new song, "Mumble Jam", is finished & almost ready to be posted.  Should be cool, although I haven't heard it yet.  Don't worry, I'll get it posted as soon as I can.

Second note is that Demo CD's will be given away at the show tomorrow at no cost to those who attend.  Track listing is still to be decided.  Watch for a post coming soon about the show.  Hope to see you all there!

Last note of interest:  I'm trying to fix the problem with our web address needing that pesky "/index" at the end...hopefully by the time people read this, all web portals can be updated & ready to roll.

02/20/2006

Just a quick addendum to the show at Rudies:  the Township Blues Band will be joining us, extending the show to a lengthy three hours!  Hopefully you can all join us out there!

02/09/2006

OK, I know it's been a while since the last update, but that's pretty much because there hasn't been much of worth to tell; until recently, that is!  Big news is that the Classic Faults Press Kit is finally completed, & we are shopping around for cheapest production so we can whore ourselves out on a regular basis.

First important note: Classic Faults will be playing a show at Rudies Coffee House on Saturday, February 25th. Show starts at 7:00 p.m., & we are playing with the local band, Reuben.  For directions to Rudies, click here.  For anyone too lazy to click, Rudies is just south of the west 7th/Randolph intersection.  Very easy to find.  Hopefully, the show is free, but stay tuned for more details concerning that.

Secondly, the new page for "Shows" went up today, with a very easy-to-use layout containing the latest details on all of our shows.  Details will be posted just as soon as we get them, & hopefully there will be many more to come.

Thirdly, the new song has been titled & 90% recorded at Rattus.  The name?  "Mumble-Jam", with only about two more lines needing to be written before vocals can be put on & the song finished.  That one is definitely going on the CD, which will be available at our Rudies show.

Fourth & finally, the Classic Faults' MySpace is finally up & has been converted to a band profile.  It features several cuts from our library, & plenty of wonderful information that you can also get right here at ClassicFaults.com.  But, if you want to be added as a fan of Classic Faults, just ask & I will grant your request...

That's all the news that's fit to print, so until next time...

01/20/2006

First new point is that I finally replaced all the audio files on the site with the most current versions.  All of our songs have been re-mastered, and the files have been replaced so everything is up & running once again!  The most notable changes are in "Her Disease" & "Pill", so check 'em out!

Second order of business is that "New You" is no longer in our set list.  As a band, we felt it did not represent us or our music very well at all, so it's been cut.  Gone.  No more.  It is an ex-song.  Instead, we've been working on two brand-new songs for the past month, & hopefully they will be finished soon.  Both of them have a very solid blues-rock feel to them, & more than one comparison to the band Clutch has been made.

Tonight, we head out to check out the Filling Avoid show at Club Underground.  Should be a great show, with some local bands opening.  A good time shall be had by all.  Show starts at 9 p.m., five bands for five dollars.  Hope it's as good as I've been told.

That's all the news from the front.

Happy New Year from Classic Faults!

12/25/2005

        Happy Holidays from Classic Faults!

Sorry about the length of time between updates, but life has been very busy lately.  It's just that time of the year.  Rest assured, Classic Faults have been in the studio every week, working on new material.  Here's a quick list of what's been going on:

        1)  "The Classic Faults Project", which is composed of interviews & our music video, is finished & has been screened by the band & others.  The result was excellent, & showcases our music nicely.  The most enjoyable part (to the band, anyways) was the chapter of out-takes & unused footage.  As soon as I get the chance & figure out the best presentation, I'll get them all posted to the site.

        2)  The quest for new album art continues.  We have a few people working on new art for our CD, "Luxury Rentals", & we will be re-releasing it with newly-mastered audio & cover art when it is done.  Keep watching for news on that!

        3)  We have been writing new material in the studio, & should have a fresh take on it when we all get back together.  Hopefully, there will be some new audio material to post here very shortly.

        4)  We are only a few small pieces away from a completed press-kit.  Once we have that put together, we can start putting our names all over the town & hopefully snagging a few shows!  Keep watching for updates here, as well!

Well, that's the update!  No practice this week, as Dave, Jeff & Mark are all out of town for the holidays.  Practice resumes in 2006!

12/02/2005

Practice yesterday went pretty well, & we started hammering out another new song!  Hopefully by the end of next practice we should have it just about finished, plus or minus some lyrics.

The video interviews are finished!  Yesterday we did both a group interview, which hopefully is useable, & then I finished up my interview segment.  Hopefully we should have the results soon, & posted on here.  Also, we should have access to some out-takes & un-used interview footage for the files.  Also coming soon will be the finished band photos that we are using for our press kit.  Should turn out great, & our press kit should be ready very soon!

That's gonna be it from the front!

11/23/2005

Happy Thanksgiving, everybody!  Thanks or stopping by ClassicFaults.com.  Not a lot of news to post today, but I'll update whatever I can.  The video shoot was a lot of fun, but it ran pretty late (4:30 a.m.), & it turns out we shot a video for "Her Disease", not "Pill" as I had originally thought.  We shot at the theater that Mark works at, & the end product should be pretty good.

Speaking of products, I have another video clip of Classic Faults that will soon find its way on here...I can't give out all the details right now, but some people will know what I'm talking about.  It rocks.

No practice this week in observance of the Holiday, plus Jeff is leaving the Cities for a few days.  Practice will resume as usual next Thursday.

Hope everyone has a happy Thanksgiving!

11/18/2005

Welcome back to ClassicFaults.com.  It turns out that Jeanne, who took our pictures, also needs to do a music video for a class.  So, guess which band she called on for her video?  So, tonight we get to try & make a video for "Pill", hopefully set in the theater that Mark works at.  It could run a little bit late, but hopefully the end result is worth it.

In Rattus news, we finish up with Giovanni Rojas tomorrow.  For people who haven't heard, he is a Christian metal singer from Costa Rica.  Has a great voice, too.  Hopefully things go smoothly there, too.

As a final News spot, Mark has finished up putting the re-mastering touches on "Luxury Rentals".  The previous job was a little bit rushed, so he went back and re-worked the entire album, most notably "Her Disease".  I'll post the results here eventually, so keep watching for that!  Also, I have plans to make the Mp3 Player a little more streamlined, so hopefully the page will load a little bit faster.

Well, that's gonna be it for now!  Thanks for coming to ClassicFaults.com, and keep watching for more updates!

11/08/2005

        This just in:

It's pretty hard to argue with that kind of authority!

11/06/2005

Posted band pictures today, you can see them on the "About Us" page, and then on each member's individual page under that.  I really like how the pics turned out.  They were shot on this past Saturday by Dave and Mark's cousin, Jeanne.  everyone, make sure to tell Jeanne what a good job she did, especially considering she was working for free!

Also, we got some pictures taken that can be printed on a glossy 8" x 10"  black & white, so we actually have another piece of our press kit put together!  When this is finished, we can actually start playing shows around the Metro Area.  Stay tuned for updates & show postings!

11/04/2005

Found an awesome Mp3 player for the site today, from www.jeroenwijering.com.  It took a few tries to set up correctly, but I really like the interface.  Also, instead of having to pick & choose songs to put on the Playlist, I can just put them all on so everyone's happy.

Also, I archived the old "News" entries.  All past entries can be found using the link right above the counter.  I should be relocating articles to the Archives every two months or so, just to keep everything loading quickly.

Practice yesterday was a lot of fun.  We discussed putting together our Press Kit (the one we've been discussing for about a year now), & decided it was finally time to take a group picture.  So, that happens tomorrow, & I'll post the results as soon as I am able.

10/31/2005

Happy Halloween everybody!  The party was a total blast!  Thank you to everyone who came out to support us, & we hope everyone had as good a time as we did.  If you weren't there, you missed a hell of a party. Suckers.

Now having an actual copy of the new CD, "Luxury Rentals", I have finally been able to post all of the Mp3's to the site at high quality.  They are all available in the "Songs" section of the site.   If anyone hears any flaws in the Mp3's, please let me know as soon as possible (my computer sometimes rips music oddly).  If you have previous versions of any songs, go download them again, as they are the official versions.

Also, a new feature that will be implemented in next post:  A News Archive.  As much as I'm sure everyone loves sifting through months & months of old "News" entries, past months' logs will be filed, & accessible from the bottom of the "News" page (the one you're reading right now...).

I want every visitor to Email & vote on some songs to go into the "Jukebox" for the next few months.  The five songs with the highest popular opinion will be the new Jukebox features.

10/25/2005

Well, it's been a crazy week, & it's only Tuesday!  Fifty CD's have been duplicated tonight, complete with jewel cases & cover art by Mark & Matt, with more to come when those are gone.  The title of the CD is "Luxury Rentals".  Track listing is not set in stone just yet, but obviously should be decided very soon.  The CD is completely mixed, & is probably being mastered as you read this.  Look for updates soon on availability & cost.  Oh, also, the lyrics for "Her Disease" & "No Explanation" are posted in the Songs section.  More updates to come soon!  Keep watching!

10/24/2005

Major overhaul to the site today, as you can probably tell.  The shades of brown & orange weren't doing it for me anymore, so I got creative again!  Hopefully it shows up correctly in everybody's browser.  Let me know what you think!

10/22/2005

Spent about ten hours in Rattus today, putting the finishing tracks into our upcoming album.  Some might say we cut it a little bit close, what with only six days to go before the CD release party.  Had a fun day & got tons of work done.  It sounds good, & the final mixed & mastered product should be fantastic!  Keep watching for new postings of Mp3 files & finished lyrics.

10/18/2005

So, I spent most of the day in Rattus with Mark & Chad, & we got all of the vocals for both "What You Want It to Be" & "New You" finished.  So, that only leaves three more vocal tracks, two solos, & mastering left to do on our album.  So far, it sounds great!  Stay tuned for the posting of the mp3 files for the rest of the album.  With a little luck we should finish our album just in time for the big bash for Halloween!

10/15/2005

So, the next two weeks promise to be very busy at Rattus Rattus Audio.  We have a little less than two weeks to finish up our album.  Luckily, the only things left to do are some Guitar solos & overdubs, & vocals/vocal overdubs.  Then, it's all left in the capable hands of Mark, Jeff, & Chad to mix & master it all before the big day.  After that, just the process of burning & preparing copies to be sold at the party.  CD's will be available for a low price, to be announced at the party!  Plus, all five members of Classic Faults will be available if you want your copy signed!  Good deal, eh?

So, the Halloween Party promises to be all kinds of fun.  An all night bash with costumes, booze, horror movies, & great music...how could it be anything but awesome?  We've put out an open invite to anyone associated with Rattus Rattus, & hopefully we will see more than a few of you there!  If anyone is interested in attending, please send Charles an Email no later than Wednesday, October 26th

In other news at Rattus Rattus, the recording process for the Come On's is all finished, & it all sounds greatExPyre is just about finished, with only Vocals & some Drum overdubs left to go.  Corporate Distortion was in the studio today, and they put down the foundation on three tracks.  All in all, Rattus Rattus has a lot of work to do.  Should be a fun couple of weeks!

Well, that's gonna be all the news for today.  Thanks for visiting, & come again soon!

10/07/2005

All right then; some actual news today:  First of all, Matt got his Bio posted yesterday!  You can view it through our About Us link or by clicking here.  Secondly, at practice yesterday (Thursday), we made up & practiced our set list for the Halloween Party.  Now, I can't reveal everything here, as I have been sworn to secrecy.  But, we are playing at least four songs that have not been played for anyone before...unless you go to our Songs page to check them out.  But I can't tell ya which ones they are.

10/04/2005

Hey, all, thanks for coming to Classicfaults.com, the official site for the Twin Cities band, Classic Faults.  This week promises to be a busy one:  Classic Faults has an album to complete, we are hosting ExPyre, Corporate Distortion,  & the Come On's in the studio for recording sessions, and all in all, I gotta say, it's gonna be good & crazy fun.  Last week we skipped practice and spent the night tracking instead.  Not quite the same amount of fun, but I suppose we all have to work sometime.

09/28/2005

OK, so I got the Jukebox feature working today!  You can now listen to "Bittersweet", "Pill", or "Juliette" while you browse.  In other news, Classic Faults now accepts Paypal for all CD orders.  Everything is going well; but progress on the album is a bit slow.  It just seems like there's so much to do that we don't know where to start.

Guitar parts for "New You" are finally in the bag, but we are trying to work out how to best record our newest song (as of yet Untitled), as it is quite tricky.  Rattus Rattus Audio got new monitors (over $500 apiece!  Yowza!), and they sound fantastic!  See the Rattus web site for more details on those.

Well, there is exactly one month to go before our CD release party...keep watching for updates!

09/22/05

I got the format for the "Jukebox" feature put together today, although it doesn't work quite yet.  The songs featured are still up in the air, but as a rough draft I have "Bittersweet", "Juliette", "New You", "On My Way", & "Pill" as tracks.  I just need to rip them at a slightly reduced quality (to make downloading go faster) and load them in!

In other news, I finally have an internet connection of my own, so updates will be more frequent as well.  Well, time to go...practice awaits.

09/19/2005

I'm putting the finishing touches on the web site right now.  I need to link up all the audio for the index pages, get bios from Jeff & Matt, & basically make it all come together in one final sweet-ass package.  Hopefully everyone likes the design; Email me & tell me what you think (especially if you have any good constructive comments about the site!)   Keep an eye on the site for updates!  Bye for now...

08/30/05

Work has started on re-recording a few of our older tunes. We are using the new equipment & improved recording skills to greatly improve our quality.  As always, we are being recorded & mixed by Chad Bonine and Mark Ackermann and Rattus Rattus Audio.  Look for some lyrics & audio files to be posted in the Songs section later.
